Speciality shows are events limited to a single breed and/or variety, which in dachshunds includes the 3 coats long hair, smooth hair and wire hair across the 3 sizes standard, miniature and rabbit. The Dachshund Club of NSW are permitted to hold 3 speciality shows per calendar year.

150th Championship Show
Friday 7th April (Easter Friday)
Start time: 10am
Starting with: Standard Long Hairs, Miniature Long Hairs, Rabbit Long Hairs, Standard Smooth Hair, (lunch break*) Miniature Smooth Hairs, Rabbit Smooth Hairs, Standard Wire Hairs, Miniature Wire Hairs, and Rabbit Wire Hairs.

Judge: Mr John Green (New Zealand)
Kennel: JEST
John has exhibited for over 20 years and has bred and exhibited Beagles for 16 years. Judged breed specialties in NZ & Australia, and visited 1997 NBC of America National Show. In addition to his interest in Beagles, he and his wife Sandra were involved in the introduction of the Petite Basset Griffon Vendeen breed to New Zealand in 1998. As well as being kept busy with family, dogs, showing, and work, they are both involved in Club administration and judging. John is licensed to judge all Hounds, Terriers, and Gundogs, and has judged throughout New Zealand and in three states of Australia.

Casual Pet Show
During the lunch break, the club will be holding a PET FUN SHOW. Any Dachshund and their Owner can turn up and take part. Children must be able to maintain control of their Dachshund while on a lead.
Sign up at the information table under the club gazebo.
- Cutest Puppy – for puppies under 6 months who dare to take on and melt the toughest of judges’ hearts with killer puppy eyes, fancy dress is optional.
- Most Waggy Tail – we are looking for the happiest Dachshund to take out this award. Fancy dress is optional and small toys are allowed.
- Strike a Pose Award – we are looking for the best / prettiest dachshund head, with fancy dress optional.
- Tricktastic Award – Looking for that tricky Dachshund who can perform on cue, with fancy dress optional and small props or toys allowed.
The pet show is in honour of the late Judy Philips, who did a lot of work with the public promoting the breed and ethical pet ownership. Judy’s children will be judging the Pet Fun Show

151st Championship Show
Sunday 9th April (Easter Sunday)
